First, we explore the basics of Python, machine learning, and A.I. and how they are related. We also define the A.I. reality and use case and talk about the cost-effectiveness of using A.I. tools for Python coding.
Week 1
Copilot & Prompts
What is GitHub Copilot and how to use it properly? From exploring Copilot's features to writing successful prompts.
Week 2
Copilot use cases
Let's bring Copilot into reality and compare the classic coding method with the one using Python Copilot. We will look at different cases from bug fixing to feature request creation and compare the quality and time results.
Week 3
Copilot VFX
How successfully can Copilot be used in a complex VFX pipeline environment to provide bug fixes and features? In this 2-hour live event, we'll use Copilot to add a feature to the Open Source Pipeline Plex.
Week 4
Copilot Final
We wrap up our Python Copilot journey with a conclusion, tips and tricks, and how we can use Python Copilot to get that all-important productivity boost.
Python has been a career-changer
After being the only Technical Director at a small animation studio, I found myself at Weta FX working on Avatar: The Way of Water. Asking myself: "How did I get here?"
After switching my first mayor from law to Media Computer Science I found a new appreciation for technology and film. This led me to study Technical Directing at the renowned Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg in Germany.
My Python skills landed me roles at Weta FX, Framestore, and Mackevision. There I worked on the blockbusters Avatar: The Way of Water (Oscar 2023), Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and the Monsters at Work series.
We won the Oscar for "Best Visual Effects" (2023) for Avatar: The Way of Water. Before my work on the Open Source Pipeline "Plex" on the short film Breaking Point won the VES Award (2017).
