What is the Python for Nuke masterclass?

The focus of this masterclass is to teach Python beginners how to use Python in Nuke to automate daily processes. You will learn the fundamentals of scripting in Python from scratch, how to use Python to manipulate your environment and finally to automate and simplify processes in Nuke.

After this masterclass you are able to

What's inside?

The masterclass is a 8 weeks cohort which focuses on teaching you the fundamentals of scripting, lets you practice the newly learned topics weekly, gives you personal feedback, allows you to ask questions in the Q&As and be part of a community with other learners.

To achieve our goal we focus the first 5 weeks on Python itself: What are data types? How to loop through and change items? How to use code from multiple files? are some of the questions we will ask and answer. After these first 5 weeks you will understand how the scripting process works while writing your own helpful Python scripts.

In the final 3 weeks we move over to Nuke and learn how to access the Nuke API using Python. How can we use Python to access and manipulate the specific elements in Nuke? Answering this question allows us to write impactful knob expressions, build complete node trees from scratch, manipulate the scene, reconnect its nodes and automate repetitive processes.
