USDSkel is an OpenUSD component that supports scalable, manipulable, and interchangeable skinned characters. Together with Paul Kanyuk (Crowd TD at Pixar Animation Studios), we'll explore the backstory of USDSkel, including how he became involved in its development.

Next, we'll explore USDSkel imports of example characters into major digital content creation (DCC) software and onto an iPhone using USDSkel. Finally we'll also take a look at Wonder Dynamics, a new markerless motion capture tool that exports USDSkel and how Python creates new opportunities.

I just finished reading "USDSkel: Optimized Character Rigging", and the structure made the key ideas easy to follow. The part around online fps test really stood out to me. It also connects nicely with Measure frame rate and rendering smoothness directly in browser.. I will revisit this post again.

"USDSkel: Optimized Character Rigging" was a great read, and it gave me a useful reminder to stay intentional. It also connects nicely with Calculate Michigan paycheck deductions and net pay in one. I will revisit this post again.
